About this Event
Connecting the Dots brings together TrueAnon podcast hosts Liz Franczak and Brace Belden, alongside writer Ivan Gaytan, in dialogue with artist Jenna Bliss’s exhibition Basic Cable. Drawing from Jenna’s video work of the same name, which reflects on image production post-9/11, the conversation will cover conspiracies, media, power, and cultural memory. Jenna’s darkly humorous approach—using her Super 8mm archive with Financial District imagery—collides with TrueAnon’s irreverent critique of power structures, finance, and politics, offering a layered discussion into the mechanisms of authority and narrative.
This event is held in conjunction with the book launch of Jenna Bliss, published by Spector Books and Haus am Waldsee, Berlin, as part of their exhibition with Jenna in 2024. Featuring a foreword by Anna Gritz and correspondence by Ivan Gaytan, the bilingual publication will be available for purchase.
Amant events are always free; RSVPs are required. Check-in for Connecting the Dots will start at 6:30pm on Thursday, January 16, outside of Géza, located at 306 Maujer. The conversation will take place in Géza.
