Connect Queer

This group will run in-person on the last Tuesday of each month, 7:30-9 at Sea & Soil in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. It will be a drop-in space for queer and trans adults of all ages in Brooklyn to share takes on pieces of fun queer media (the new Janelle Monae album! Queer Ultimatum! An episode of the Queer As Fact podcast!) and to forge meaningful community connections with each other. Group sessions will include rounds of speed-friending, a discussion of that month’s piece of media, and a mutual aid go-round to offer or request support. Masks required (windowed masks available free); sandwich dinner from Sea & Soil available outside 7:15-7:30 PM. Space is wheelchair-accessible, though the bathroom is not.

The Culture Discussion: a link to the media we are discussion will be sent out when you buy your ticket, so buy in advance! That said, if you don't have a chance to read/watch/listen to what we are discussing, you are still welcome to attend.

Paying with insurance: This is a community support group being run through a therapy practice. If you have Medicare (not Medicaid or Medicare Advantage), please email Rousz at [email protected] to register for the group through our client portal so that we can bill Medicare instead of you, and you will only be responsible for your co-pay. If you have another insurance with out-of-network benefits and would like superbills to submit for reimbursement, please also contact Rousz to arrange payment and paperwork through the client portal.
