CONNECT Future Ready at YMCA Northumberland, Ashington
Get ready to unleash new skills, confidence and your future career aspirations across a weeklong personal development programme for young people aged 16—30 years old.
This programme is open to any young person in Northumberland that is:
• Economically inactive & unemployed.
• Looking for a workplace readiness experience.
• Experiencing low confidence, loneliness or feeling overwhelmed about the future.
• Able to get themselves to YMCA Northumberland for each intervention day
This weeklong programme is perfect for young people that would like to:
• Find your voice and feel empowered.
• Increase personal impact and boost confidence.
• Develop team working skills and meet like-minded young people
• Have a go at creative practical activities designed to explore personal strengths, career aspirations and actionable next steps.
• Engage in fun skills development training, focusing on presentation skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills, and youth leadership.
• Achieve an Arts Award Bronze qualification – a recognised confidence boosting qualification, accredited by Trinity College London.
• Unleash your creativity and devise creative content with professional creatives.
• Learn about working in the creative industries by working with artists, theatre makers, production, practitioners & an animator!
• Engage with wrap around support from Mortal Fools practitioners pre and post programme.
• Be referred onto other employability programmes and support to engage with further opportunities.
Deadline for referrals/sign-ups: Sunday 17th November at 5pm
Taster Session: Wednesday 20th November 1-3pm
This session will provide an opportunity for young people to meet Mortal Fools, engage in some fun creative and confidence-boosting activities and sign registration paperwork.
Main Week: Monday 25th - Friday 29th November (full days)
Reunion Session: Wed 11th December 2-4pm
This session will bring participants back together to think about next steps, referrals onto other programmes and to check in.
