About this Event
Anthony Hendricks, co-founder of The Public, will facilitate a conversation spanning history, current events, and how we as a community can effectively respond. This follow-up conversation to A Special Evening with Dr. Jemar Tisby & Rev. Jim Wallis will discuss how white Christian nationalism distorts the teachings of Jesus to justify exclusion, fear and division – contradicting the call to justice, compassion and love. We will discover the historical roots of these ideologies and the harm they continue to cause today. By confronting these issues in our own communities, we can reclaim the moral and spiritual foundation of our faith, equipping ourselves and our institutions to take bold, courageous action for justice and the common good.
The conversation will be held in Room A291 at Brentwood UMC.
Attendance to the Jemar Tisby and Jim Wallis event on October 24th is not required, but it is encouraged.
