About this Event

Hockey in Canada has reached a moment of reckoning. In recent years, a game so universally loved has been rocked in recent years by court cases involving sexual assault and startling incidents of hazing and abuse throughout junior hockey.

How did we get here and how do we take hockey to a better place? Join TSN award-winning investigative journalist and author of We Breed Lions, Rick Westhead, Associate Editor at the Walrus Ariella Garmaise and hockey commentator and chairman of Hockey Equality Anthony Stewart in conversation with Stephen Brunt as they go behind the headlines and take a deep-dive into the state of hockey in Canada today. Shocking allegations of sexual misconduct; racism, misogyny and homophobia in the dressing room; the reluctance of league officials, team owners and members of hockey’s governing bodies who are willing to sacrifice the well-being of their players and the community for profit are some of the topics that will be discussed during this urgent and important public event.
