Who is this training for?
This one-day course is for enforcement officers, duty bodies and other organisations in Scotland and the wider UK. The training will also prove useful for anyone aged 18+ in a public-facing, or customer services role.
It will teach you how to deal with violent or aggressive members of the public, equip you with effective conflict management strategies, such as assertive behaviour, and provide you with the skills to stay calm when faced with conflict situations.
What certification will you receive?
You will receive a certificate of attendance from Keep Scotland Beautiful.
How long will the training take?
This training is five hours of learning and runs from 10:00 - 16:00 0n 16 December.
When and where will the in-person training take place?
This training will take place at our offices in Stirling, Keep Scotland Beautiful, Glendevon House, The Castle Business Park, Stirling, FK9 4TZ.
What are the learning outcomes of the training?
This course will help you to:
- Define difficult and aggressive behaviour
- Identify the phases of an incident
- Identify the verbal and non-verbal signs that can lead to violent behaviour
- Understand how situations get out of control
- Maintain composure when responding to aggression and conflict
- Use skills to manage words, phrases and body language
In addition, the course also explores stress and assertiveness.
What is the cost of the training?
£225 exclusive of VAT.
Is lunch included?
Yes, we will provide a vegetarian lunch and hot drinks. There's space on the order form to advise us of any dietary requirements.

No, this is the only date currently scheduled for 2025, but you can commission this training for your organisation.

Data Protection Act 2018
We (Keep Scotland Beautiful) will hold the information you have given us via Eventbrite in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
We will use the information you provide to process your registration for the training, send you communications about the training, including relevant follow-up information and for monitoring and reporting. We will use anonymised data for purposes including marketing and promotion.
If your attendance at the training has been organised by an organisation or company, we may share relevant information with them.
We will not record any of the training in full, however, we may take short video clips and images for use in marketing and promotion of the training. We may use the video clips and recordings for future promotion of our activities. This includes, without limitation the right to use the recordings in publicity materials, newsletters, newspapers, magazine articles, exhibitions, films, television and online (web and social media). The recordings may be made available for others to share, including partners and the press. We will give you notice in the training before we take videos or images, so you can choose whether you want to be involved in them.
We will retain data required for your certificate of attendance and any CPD hours gained for a period of four years and will then delete the information. We will store any other information you provide to us via Eventbrite for as long as we require it to complete the training and send any relevant follow-up information. We will then delete the data.
