About this Event
WHO: KarenA is calling all moms, grandmoms, teachers, mentors, sponsors, advocates, big sisters, big cousins, aunties, guardians, great grands…
WHAT: Bring your girls ages 6-13 to the 3-part series – CONFIDENCE COMMUNITY FOR GIRLS
WHEN: Saturdays October 26th; November 2nd; and November 9th.
WHERE: The Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center, 4301 Degnan Blvd., Suite 101, Los Angeles, California in Leimert Park.
HOW: This series is complimentary. Through reading, presentation skills training and performing arts, girls will learn tools and techniques to build and maintain confidence. They will interact in a supportive community with like-minded girls.
WHY: Our society has not yet embraced the worth and value of women in tangible ways, such as equitable wages, childcare, health services, political access, education…
Societal neglect of girls vs. support of boys breeds distinct outcomes. By 8-9 years old, we begin to see a divergence. Boys learn to take bigger risks for bigger rewards and grow unshakable confidence in the process. Girls begin to shrink and lose their voices, their confidence.
The earlier we train girls to grow and maintain confidence, the more confident they will be as women.
Series led by THEKarenA, Karen A Clark, Coach of Confidence.
