TREE OF SMOKE:
The music of Belgium-based band Tree of Smoke evokes vast landscapes, songs with plenty of breathing space and enough room to spark the imagination. Songs that tell stories, small and anecdotal, but also relatable and universal.
Their influences range from Americana to alt-country, and beyond. Think Yo La Tengo, Wilco, Bill Callahan, Jonathan Wilson, just to name a few.
The band’s line-up tells its own story.
Today, bass player Frank and singer/songwriter Geert, founders of the original band formerly known as Skyler, recently joined forces with the latter’s two sons, Arjan (guitar) and Jasper ‘OG Mufti’ (drums), to finally find the vibe and groove they were looking for.
Now there’s a family and friendship connection you seldom see on stage, spanning two generations' worth of music.
