Pela ocasião do 50º Aniversário das Relações Bilaterais Índia–Portugal, o Centro de Estudos Indianos da FLUL tem o prazer de receber a conferência ‘Cultura e Globalização’.Esta conferência oferece um espaço de reflexão acerca da cultura Indiana e sua transformação no processo de globalização, as peculiaridades da diáspora Indiana em Portugal e o modo de olhar esta cultura a partir de dentro e de fora.
O evento é co-organizado pelo Centro de Estudos Indianos – FLUL e pelo Upāyana Project, com o apoio da Embaixada da Índia em Portugal e da Comunidade Hindu de Portugal.
Oradores:
-Keynote speaker: Drª Vidya Rao, Jain University of Bangalore, Índia.
O primeiro painel é constituído por pesquisadores da mesma Universidade, que apresentarão temas da sua especialidade - dança e música clássica indiana:
- Poornima Gururaja
- Sugnan Dani
O segundo painel reúne pesquisadores que lecionam em Universidades Portuguesas, que apresentarão diferentes perspectivas acerca da diáspora indiana:
- Prof. Shiv Kumar Singh, FLUL, Lisboa
- Prof. Tânia Ganito, ISCSP & Univ. Católica, Lisboa
- Prof. Pedro Roxo, FCSH - UN, Lisboa
Culmina com um momento cultural de música e dança.
As línguas da Conferência são o Português e o Inglês.

On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of India–Portugal Bilateral Relations, the Center for Indian Studies at FLUL is pleased to host the conference ‘Culture and Globalisation’.
This conference offers a space for reflection on Indian culture and its transformation in the process of globalization, the particularities of the Indian diaspora in Portugal, and the ways of viewing this culture from both within and outside.
The event is co-organised by the Center for Indian Studies – FLUL and the Upāyana Project, with the support of the Embassy of India in Portugal and Comunidade Hindu de Portugal.
Speakers:
-Keynote speaker: Dr. Vidya Rao, Jain University of Bangalore, India.
The first panel features researchers from Jain University in Bangalore, India, who will present topics related to their areas of expertise - Indian classical dance and music:

The second panel brings together researchers teaching at Portuguese universities, who will offer different perspectives on the Indian diaspora.
