About this Event
This seminar explores the behavior and design of modern concrete slab systems, with a focus on shrinkage, crack control, and slab optimization. Attendees will gain an understanding of the mechanisms that cause concrete shrinkage and learn practical methods for mitigating shrinkage-induced cracking.
The seminar will also cover the design of fiber-reinforced slabs-on-ground, including the application of yield line theory to improve efficiency and performance. In addition, elevated slab systems, including composite and non-composite slabs on metal deck, will be discussed. Real-world project examples will illustrate successful applications of these design concepts and construction practices.
