Join us for an evening of dialogue about the question: What does “engagement with bicycling” mean in the city of Tempe? As we consider approaches to design for healthier urban environments, the act of bicycling provides a vivid example of how systems change plays out in everyday life on the street. This event will explore the complex social and technological relations connected to bicycling in Tempe from four perspectives: Advocacy, Experience, Community and Clash. By bringing together researchers, residents, advocates and city officials to discuss ways to engage with cycling in Tempe, we strive to enrich our understanding of how to strategize, manage, and lead change towards a healthier city.Speakers
The event will include speakers from The Tempe Bicycle Action Group, the Broadmor Bike Bus, The Design School and the School of Geographical Sciences & Urban Planning.
