Conductor: Daniel HardingNow being held for the second time, Concertgebouworkest Young brings together talented musicians aged fourteen to eighteen from across the EU.
These young musicians are finally presenting themselves as a youth orchestra one year later than originally intended. After an intensive summer programme, Young will be performing at the Concertgebouw and then going on tour to Cologne. The acclaimed conductor Daniel Harding is leading Young in Brahms’s Symphony No. 2 and Jörg Widmann’s concert overture Con brio.
Back home after this unique experience, the young players can apply everything they’ve learned to their lives and work to continue to spread a love of classical music. After all, music brings people together.
Watching youthful talent at work gives us a glimpse of the future – a must for anyone who loves classical music!
The youth orchestra was organised for the first time in 2019, and the launch proved a great success in every respect. With their enthusiasm and the quality of their performance, these youngsters won the hearts of even the most discerning music lovers.
