The Louisville Concert Band and Chamber Winds Louisville presents a September program filled with color and character. Philip Sparke’s Sunrise at Angel’s Gate captures the spacious grandeur of a desert dawn, while Percy Grainger’s spirited Molly on the Shore and Warren Barker’s texturally rich setting of Danny Boy bring folk traditions to life. The concert also features a special performance by our clarinet choir, presenting Ralph Vaughan Williams’ beloved Rhosymedre as we celebrate the memory of one of our revered founding members, clarinetist and conductor Brad Rogers.The exuberant and brilliant Thunder and Lightning Polka by Johann Strauss II will provide a lively and joyous finale. If you like the crash cymbal solo at the end we may even add an encore!
