KATHY MAR, Loscon 50 Musical Guest of Honor is a singer, guitarist and songwriter, who shines as the guiding star of KINDNESS. Her indie “filk” works include award winners such as Velveteen, When Giants Walked, and Drink Up The River. She is the recent recipient of the Pegasus award for "Best Classic Filk Song". She was inducted into the Filk Hall of Fame in only the second year of its existence and, with Lindy Sears, instigated the Dandelion Conspiracy to promote filk to general SF conventions. She is joined by singer/songwriter Tim Griffin. Tim Griffin is a retired STEM teacher; an award-winning writer and performer of geeky educational music; a lifelong filker; and the founding director of Griffin Education (GriffinEd), a 501c3 nonprofit raising academic achievement in STEM and other subjects through fun, peer-reviewed songs about science, history, math, taxidermy, and other great stuff kids need to know about.
