ABOUT THE MUSICIANS
Shirley Jackson, (Vocals, guitar & sax) is an award-winning artist and a recognized singer/songwriter who writes and performs a soulful blend of acoustic tunes with her son, Jef Wirchenko, on Acoustic Bass. The duo play Jackson's originals along with a blend of traditional blues, roots, folk and country that are 'close to their roots'. Jackson has independently produced four albums with her six-piece Good Rockin' Daddys; each nominated for Blues Recording of the Year by the East Coast Music Association and the Nova Scotia Music Awards.
Hatfield & Laflèche is a Halifax-based music duo known for their unique blend of vocals, guitar,bass, and baritone sax, creating a distinctive sound that merges folk, roots, country, and blues.
Their collaboration began in the fall of 2016 exploring the sonic relationships of their chosen instruments and the versatile role of the baritone sax in the duo setting. Since then, their instrumentation has expanded. Their diverse musical backgrounds shape their original material and inventive arrangements of a curated selection of covers.
