Summer Concert with a Cause: Harvard University Choir

On Wednesday, June 1st, 2022 at 7pm we look forward to welcoming the Harvard University Choir from Cambridge, Massachusetts.

For over 180 years the Harvard University Choir has provided a unique opportunity for undergraduate and graduate student singers to perform great choral literature at the highest level, both in concert and during the services of the Memorial Church. A demanding, yet rewarding experience, the choir is regarded by many as the premier program in college chapel music in the United States. Each year the choir performs America's oldest Christmas Carol Services to packed congregations. They are led by Edward Jones, Gund University Organist and Choirmaster and David von Behren, Assistant University Organist and Choirmaster at Harvard.

The HOPE - Healing On Purpose and Evolving - Center is the manifestation of Senior Pastor Michael A. Walrond’s vision, to effectively support the vast mental health needs of the parishioners of First Corinthian Baptist Church, and the Harlem community at large. The center seeks to minimize the stigma around communities of color when seeking mental health services. It prides itself in having licensed clinicians who utilize evidence-based therapeutic practices to support a variety of daily living challenges including depression, trauma, sexual abuse and bereavement.
