The Pitt State Wind Ensemble will perform a free concert called “Phase Change” — music that reminds us that nothing is permanent, including a masterful transcription of Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana.” This large-scale work warns that fortune’s wheel can bring success just as it can lead to ruin. Listeners will also experience two different takes on the inevitability of change by young composer Viet Cuong, one based on poetry and one based on science. The concert will be directed by Associate Professor Andrew Chybowski.
