Preludiu, substantiv neutru - 1. (prin specializare) Prima piesă muzicală dintr-o suită instrumentală; piesă care precedă o fugă sau un coral. 2. Concertul pe întuneric din acest an explorează preludiul, o formă muzicală scurtă care poate servi drept prefață, dar poate funcționa și ca piesă de sine stătătoare.
Primele preludii au fost compuse în perioada Renașterii, iar această formă este folosită în continuare de compozitorii și compozitoarele contemporane. Vom începe, desigur, concertul cu Bach: preludiile din Suita engleză nr. 2 și Partita nr. 1, alături de primele două Preludii și Fugi din Caietul nr. 1 al Clavecinului bine temperat. Dacă în suite mai poți despărți Preludiul de restul pieselor, n-am putut lăsa Fuga singură, fără Preludiu.
Va urma o selecție din preludiile lui Chopin, unele scrise în Paris, altele în Mallorca, locul unde acesta se refugia în lunile de iarnă împreună cu partenera sa, George Sand, și copiii ei. Printre altele, nu va lipsi Preludiul în mi minor și Picături de ploaie (Raindrop Prelude).
În partea a doua explorăm preludiile din secolul **: o selecție din Caietul 1 de Preludii de Claude Debussy, compozitor francez impresionist, cunoscut pentru limbajul său muzical bogat în armonii și timbralitate. Printre altele, veți asculta Fata cu părul bălai și Pași pe zăpadă.
La final, pentru prima dată la Concertul pe întuneric – și sper că nu ultima – voi interpreta preludii de Serghei Rahmaninov, despre care ne place să credem că își trage rădăcinile din dinastia Basarabilor. Cine știe, poate e adevărat? Poate de aceea ne place atât de mult muzica lui?

This year's Concert in the Dark explores the prelude, a short musical form that can serve as a preface, but can also function as a stand-alone piece.
The first preludes were composed during the Renaissance, and the form is still used by contemporary composers. We will, of course, begin the concert with Bach: the Preludes from English Suite No. 2 and Partita No. 1, along with the first two Preludes and Fugues from the Well-Tempered Clavier No. 1. If in the suite you can still separate the Prelude from the rest of the pieces, I couldn't leave the Fugue alone without the Prelude.
There will follow a selection from Chopin's preludes, some written in Paris, others in Majorca, where he took refuge in the winter months with his partner, George Sand, and her children. Among others, the Prelude in E minor and Raindrop Prelude will not be missing.
In the second part we explore preludes of the 20th century: a selection from the First Book of Preludes by Claude Debussy, the French impressionist composer known for his musical language rich in harmonies and timbrality. Among others, you'll hear The Fair-Haired Girl and Footsteps in the Snow.
At the end, for the first time at the Concert in the Dark - and hopefully not the last - I will play preludes by Sergei Rahmaninov, who we like to think has his roots in the Basarab dynasty. Who knows, maybe it's true? Maybe that's why we love his music so much?

Прелюдия -и, ж. 1) Вступление к музыкальному сочинению или небольшая самостоятельная пьеса, главным образом для клавесина, фортепьяно, органа. Оркестровая прелюдия. 2) перен. Вступление, введение во что-л., а также предвестие чего-л.
В этом году «Концерт в темноте» посвящен прелюдии - короткой музыкальной форме, которая может служить вступлением, но может быть и самостоятельным произведением.
Первые прелюдии были написаны в эпоху Возрождения, и эта форма до сих пор используется современными композиторами. Разумеется, мы начнем концерт с Баха: прелюдии из Английской сюиты № 2 и Партиты № 1, а также две первые прелюдии и фуги из «Хорошо темперированного клавесина» № 1. Если в сюите прелюдию еще можно отделить от остальных частей, то фугу я не мог оставить без прелюдии.
Далее последует подборка прелюдий Шопена, некоторые из которых были написаны в Париже, другие - на Майорке, где он уединялся в зимние месяцы со своей партнершей Жорж Санд и ее детьми. Среди них - прелюдия ми минор и прелюдия «Капля дождя».
Во второй части мы познакомимся с прелюдиями ** века: подборка из Первой книги прелюдий Клода Дебюсси, французского композитора-импрессиониста, известного своим музыкальным языком, богатым гармониями и тембральностью. Среди прочих вы услышите «Девушка с льняными волосами» и «Шаги на снегу».
В конце, впервые на «Концерте в темноте» - и, надеюсь, не в последний раз - я сыграю прелюдии Сергея Рахманинова, который, как нам кажется, ведет свое происхождение от династии Басараба. Кто знает, может быть, так оно и есть? Может быть, именно поэтому нам так нравится его музыка?
