About this Event
Getting up-close with a large orchestra is an amazing learning experience - it's a must for all student composers and music makers. Given that many of our courses include assignments asking students to compose soundtracks and scores to image, the UH Music Department decided to approach the the University’s resident de Havilland Philharmonic Orchestra to ask for a concert with music from the big screen... and boy did they respoond!

- The Great Escape (Main Theme and highlights) / Elmer Bernstein
- James Bond Suite / Various composers
- Harry Potter Suite / John Williams
- Riding the Hippogriff (Harry Potter) / John Williams
- Adventures on Earth (E.T.) / John Williams
INTERVAL
- Lord of the Rings Suite Howard Shore
- Star Trek into Darkness Michael Giacchino
- Themes from Gladiator Hans Zimmer
- Jurassic Park John Willliams
- Pirates of the Caribbean Klaus Badelt
- Star Wars Suite John Williams
But there's more... the concert will open with a world-premere of a new short work for orchestra composed and orchestrated by William Donaldson (one of our own very talented L6 Music Students)!
