The Catacombs is not just a place of rest, it is also the setting for NYC's most distinctive and atmospheric musical experiences.
About this Event

In the middle of Green-Wood is a cavernous underground space rarely open to the public. The Catacombs is not just a place of rest for the departed, it is also the setting for New York’s most distinctive and atmospheric musical experiences.

Our 2022 Concert in the Catacombs series is curated by acclaimed experimental singer and songwriter Gelsey Bell. Hailed by The New York Times as “one of New York’s most adventurous musicians,” Bell brings together performers from a diverse range of styles, backgrounds, and influences.

This evening’s performance features free jazz legend William Parker, who has been heralded as “the most consistently brilliant free jazz bassist of all time.” A New York native, Parker is a bassist, improviser, composer, writer, and educator. He has released 150 albums, published six books, and taught and mentored hundreds of young musicians and artists over the course of his 50+ year career.

You can read more about Parker’s incomparable career in a recent feature in The New York Times.

$40/$35 for members. There are no paper or e-tickets. Attendees will be checked in by name.
