About this Event

Loving Room brings local performers and music lovers with a mission to provide intimate and inspiring experiences in beautiful cosy spaces. Because who doesn’t want to discover new locations and upcoming talent all in the same space at the same time?

Agenda of the evening :

19:45 - 20:00 Doors Open

20:00 - 20:15 Katy

Described as "intimate folk", Katy's music explores life's rawest moments through sentimental vocals and simple guitar. She grew up in the US in a family of classical musicians and started playing violin at age three. Now, she enjoys singing warm harmonies, writing songs about emotions that are hard to process and generally just feeling things really deeply. She recently started putting her own music into the world with her debut album, Eerste, in the spring of 2022.

20:15 - 20:30 Nipun

Nipun is a singer-songwriter, originally from the pink city of India, Jaipur. He has been writing songs from 2-3 years and he believes that music has the power to connect and speak to people. He is inspired by a indie artists such as Damien Rice, Paolo Nutini. In his music, one can often hear notes that reflect insecurities as an artist, twisted nature of love, and slice of life themes.

20:30 - 20:45 Break

20:45 - 21:00 Carly E

Carly E (Carlijn van Wijk) played cello and sang from the time she was 5 years old. Between the ages of 12 and 18, she toured Europe with the Youth Orchestra of The Netherlands. In 2012, she moved to London before moving again a year and a half later to Argentina, where she stayed until 2016. Far away from home she discovered her own music. She became a singer, composer and solo artist, accompanying herself on a cello, also with loop pedal or band. Carly E’s cello idol is Yo-Yo Ma and she loves the old jazz and soul ladies like Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone. Her big example is Andrew Bird. This combination makes her music a mix of jazz, classical, folk and pop with an intuitive poetic groove.

21:00 - 21:15 Michael McGovern

Michael McGovern is a Scottish singer / songwriter. His debut album Highfield Suite captures his signature sound, with fingerpicking guitars, harmonies and heartfelt lyrics; a nod to some of his influences like Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. The album received critical acclaim in both the UK and in Ireland, including BBC Radio Scotland and RTE Lyric album of the week and 8.5/10 Hot Press Magazine. Michael was endorsed by folk music legend Paul Brady; “I love it, what an unexpected gem”. Michael is currently touring the UK and Europe and has just performed at the prestigious Cambridge Folk Festival.
