Concert and Conversation with Kinan Azmeh and Layale Chaker

Close collaborators for many years in life and on stage, clarinetist and composer Kinan Azmeh and composer and violinist Layale Chaker share a sustained artistic dialogue rooted in friendship, shared cultural lineages, and a belief in music as a site of encounter. Together, they co-wrote the double concerto Dawning for clarinet, violin, and orchestra, co-commissioned by the New York Philharmonic, Nebraska Crossroads Music Festival, and the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra. For this evening's program, each artist will perform selected works from their own repertoire alongside excerpts from their collaborative projects, offering a portrait of two singular voices shaped through long-term exchange, mutual influence, and shared creative ground.
