The West Hills Symphonic Band is ready to kick off the 2025-26 concert season with A Fall Frolic at Montour High School on Sunday, October 19th, at 3:00 PM. Remember that all concerts are FREE and open to the public!Led by the newly-appointed Principal Conductor & Music Director Tom Snyder and Associate Conductor Steve Baldanzi, the band will take you on a musical romp through an array of styles reminiscent of autumn’s dynamic changes. A CHORUS LINE SPECTACULAR will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic Marvin Hamlisch musical opening on Broadway, SINATRA! will have you singing along to some of Old Blue Eye’s legendary hits, and a symphonic setting of the music from ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF THIEVES will revive the heroics, drama, and romance of the 1991 film starring Kevin Costner.
We are also proud to feature two fellow band members in our concert program. GEORGE LEPSCH from the euphonium section will conduct a transcription of RÁKÓCZY MARCH from French Romantic composer Hector Berlioz’s La Damnation de Faust, Op. 24. Additionally, principal Oboist Justin Carson will perform the second movement of the oboe concerto HOLD FAST YOUR DREAMS by contemporary American composer Eric Ewazen. You won’t want to miss it!
