In this six week yoga and meditation workshop, we conclude our exploration and integration of the philosophy and ancient wisdom of Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga.Having learnt this systematic guide for our spiritual practice, we finish with the final piece of the puzzle for self realization, or union of our two natures.
The word yoga means union or to yoke, and yoga was originally taught for this very purpose, to unite our world of matter and of spirit, the union of which creates Samadhi or the blissful state, pure consciousness on Earth.
In this, our 5th and last workshop of the series, we will learn and work with the 6th, 7th and 8th limbs, DHARANA, DHYANA and SAMADHI.
Here we really dial in on our yoga practice by gaining an in depth knowledge and understanding of the meditation process.
We will answer such questions as:
What is meditation?
Can meditation be ineffective?
What are the benefits?
How do I meditate for yoga and yoga alone?
How do I calm the monkey mind?
.
We will learn how focus inward, training our mind and body with ancient techniques to continue the purification process, to open up the correct channels safely and effectively, and to gain an understanding of the different levels of enlightenment and higher levels of consciousness.
We will also keep in touch throughout the week via a group chat to help with integration of all that is being taught.
This workshop will run for 6 weeks on a Tuesday evening at 6.30pm for 1 hour. We start on the 8th of October.
There are no pre requisites for this workshop as all levels of practice are catered for. You will need to bring a mat, 2 yoga blocks and a yoga belt. Some also like to bring cushions and blanket for extra comfort.
