Compton & Shawford Festival Choir return for their annual concert with an evening of Mozart, accompanied by a full orchestra and professional soloists. The programme opens with the Mozart Vespers K339, which includes the serene and beautiful ‘Laudate Dominum’. This will be followed by Mozart’s magnificent Requiem, back by popular demand after the choir’s first performance of it at Thornden Hall several years ago. Although it contains the reflective moments of a requiem, it has a stirring ‘Dies Irae’ (Day of Wrath), an emotional ‘Lacrimosa’, and a truly exhilarating finale. A treat for Mozart lovers everywhere, and an inspiration for those new to choral works.
