About this Event
Compound’s Snip n' Sip is a monthly floral building workshop series led by a rotating lineup of professional floral artists. Whether you're a floral novice or a seasoned enthusiast, you'll find inspiration and guidance from our expert instructors as they share their tips, tricks, and industry secrets in this 2-hour hands-on experience, all while enjoying a glass of wine from our restaurant, Union @ Compound.
Friday, June 28, join us for a workshop focusing on exploring the creative experience of “IKEBANA,” the Japanese art of floral arranging. Learn basic skills to create your own ikebana arrangement by appreciating seasonal changes with flower materials and acknowledging the beauty of each stem. This exciting workshop will enable you to understand that each piece of flower material is unique, resulting in a reflective and visually striking ikebana composition.
Included in the course fee:
- All fresh floral materials and necessary tools to make a fresh floral arrangement including floral foam and a container.
- Complimentary glass of wine.
This workshop is led by Michiko Amiya of Miko Blooms. Michiko is a certified instructor of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana and teaches ikebana classes in Long Beach. Over the years, she has crafted flower arrangements and ikebana works for corporations and individuals based in Greater Los Angeles. Her passion lies in assiting people to create their own ikebana imbedded with their unique individuality and joy, while also fostering heartfelt connections through teaching floral techniques.
