Buy a backyard compost bin on Compost Bin Day!Dartmouth & New Bedford residents who purchase, or previously purchased, a backyard compost bin will receive a Sure-Close kitchen counter bin (2 gallons) FREE while supplies last. The kitchen counter bin can be used to collect food waste in your kitchen, and it's then emptied into your backyard compost bin.
To purchase a backyard compost bin, please follow these instructions:
✅ Location: Crapo Hill Landfill, 300 Samuel Barnet Blvd, New Bedford, MA 02745. Enter through the New Bedford Business Park.
✅ On 4/5/25, Compost Bin Day is from 8:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Also, compost bins are sold year-round. Hours: Monday – Friday 7:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m. -10:45 a.m.
✅ New Bedford and Dartmouth residents only, ID required.
✅ New Age Composter and Earth Machine for sale. Both types of backyard compost bins cost $25 each. Cash, check, or money order only. No credit or debit cards.
The Sure-Close kitchen counter bin is only available on Compost Bin Day.
