Composition in the field

This Composition in the Field class is structured so you have an opportunity to photograph the inside of the church, and the outside of the church. The delicate antique designs of the interior are perfect subjects for experimenting with composition…The outside of the church provides stunning architecture that can act as a backdrop to a portrait photo, or the main subject of a still life.

Shoot inside this amazing church for the first half of the class. After that, shoot outside for an hour, and then meet at Star Lounge Cafe (2521 W. Chicago Ave.) to warm up and finish the class by looking at everyone’s images. Come and shoot inside a beautiful cathedral, where seeing the details will keep us exploring behind our lenses.

Students will explore the possibilities and challenges with shooting in both lighting situations. This will be an informative, fun and challenging workshop led by DPA instructor, Rose Yuen. Join Art in shooting quality imagery in an unexpected venue where balance within our frame, exposure, and composition is the focus.

We will see differently behind the lens when we can utilize everything that is available to be shot. Composition in the field explores the avenue of being able to take great imagery no matter where you are. Our church locations are incredibly popular. Due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control we will be happy to work with you to reschedule or provide a refund. However, if you should need to cancel or require a new class date, contact us. A $25 transfer fee will be imposed without a 3 day notice before the scheduled class.
