Here's how it works:
Every Saturday starting at 4pm, we host Competitive Commander events.
At 4pm we run
The Big Pod!
This is a multi-round event.
Players play at 1-4 qualifying tables depending on attendance.
These tables feed a Top-4 table.
The winner of that pod receives 3 points per player in the event, each other player in the top-4 gets 1 point per player in the event, and each player receives 1 participation point, just for playing.
The winner also receives $10 in store credit per player in the event.
After the Big Pod has started, we take sign ups for smaller individual pods.
These pods are generally 4-6 players. Each player receives 1 participation point for joining, and the winner gets 1 prize point per player in the pod, as well as $10 in store credit per player in the pod.
What do points do?
There are 2 things that points get you.
Participation points are effectively raffle tickets in a quarterly drawing. The drawing will be for big value commander cards (likely dual lands whenever possible).
1 lucky player per quarter will receive the quarterly prize card.
Best of all, you never need to win a single game to win that drawing, because it is fully built around the participation points. The more you play, the better your chances of winning are.
Prize points and participation points will be used to determine the list for our end of year invitational event which generally pays out over $1000 in prizes! The top 16 point earners (prize & Participation combined) at the end of the year will earn a seat at the table.
The top 4 point earners will win the option to play 1st at their own 4 qualifying tables.
These events are proxy friendly, as long as your proxies do not give you any in game advantage (marked cards, deliberately confusing game state, etc)
Big Pod entry fee is $15
Small pods are $12
End of Year invitational event is on Saturday December 14th.
