About this Event

!!! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE BEE HIVES AT THE WILDFLOWER NURSERY AND THERE ARE MANY BEES BUZZING AROUND!!!

Lead Ranger: Clem Bathurst Mobile: 07882 580189

Transport & Address:

We will be working at our new Community Wildflower Nursery!! There is no parking at the nursery so we are asking everyone to join us on our minibus.

The minibus will be running from our depot at 9.30am. Unfortunately there isn't any free parking on Fennels Road, the car park costs 60p per hour or £2.60 a day - card or RINGO. The nearest postcode is HP11 1SL.

W e will bring everyone back at approximately 3.30pm.

You don't need to print off your Eventbrite ticket!

The Task:

Today we will be continuing our preparation of the site and the tasks will include finalising our polytunnel, potting on plants, sowing wildflower seeds and installing new growing areas

Timings (please note these timings are approximate):

09.30: Depart in the minibus to the nursery, please don't be late!

10.00: Arrival for safety briefing and start work

11.30: Tea & coffee break

13.00: Lunch Break - please bring your own

15.30: Work finishes, time to go home!

What to bring:

Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.

Long trousers are advisable as there is thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers.

Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain. If it's sunny bring a hat and sun cream.

Please bring plenty of fluids and a packed lunch. We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.

Access: The wildflower nursery is on flat ground and has good accessibility for all. A toilet is also available for use on site.

Volunteering and COVID:

Please do not attend sessions if you have tested positive for COVID or if you have COVID symptoms e.g. a new continuous cough, a high temperature, a loss of, or change in your normal sense of taste or smell.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you want to discuss anything further.
