Join us at this open-level West Coast Swing practica for anyone who wants to improve their dance. Ideally you’ll bring specific things you want to work on, and be ready to give feedback to other dancers as requested.A partner is not required! However, you are welcome to bring a practice partner and opt out of rotation, if you wish. This is your time to practice how you want!
DJ Blake will provide music to practice to, and guest instructors Carlie O'Brien & Michael Cheng will be available as facilitators to offer general guidance and answer dance questions. To help cover expenses, we suggest you contribute $10 (or what you can afford). CASH ONLY! No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Practica structure:
There will be no lesson at this practica. The first hour will be structured as a rotation with time to dance and discuss with each new partner. The second hour will be structured as spotlight/semi-spotlight dances with the opportunity to watch other couples and ask for feedback on your dancing. Participation in either portion is optional.
Spotlight will be facilitated as follows:
1. 1-2 couples at a time for 1 min and 30 seconds (typical spotlight duration).
2. Dancers can request feedback or just dance in the spotlight for experience .
3. Feedback will be limited to one good thing and one thing to explore per person.
4. Feedback time is limited to max 3 people to give feedback (no more than 3 good things and 3 things to explore).
5. Once feedback is given, couples will get a chance to apply it with a 30 second song.
We recommend you ask people for the type of feedback you want! If you want to give someone else feedback, ask their permission first. Questions about the event? Reach out to Sequoia! Not sure what to practice? Ask the facilitating teacher for advice on the day.
