The City of Longview and the Longview Chamber of Commerce are seeking to “Unite the Community” by producing a unique matchmaking opportunity. Recognizing the fact that Longview is a truly caring and supportive community with exceptional opportunities to give back and make a positive impact for both volunteers and recipients of service, the City and the Chamber are joining forces to present The Community Volunteer Fair!Organizations with volunteer opportunities for the public are being invited to set up a booth to “market” their programs and how volunteers can make a difference. These organizations may be non-profits, schools, government programs etc. needing volunteers on a one-time basis, on an annual basis, on an event basis, on a monthly, weekly or daily basis…..how can volunteers BEST help them with their missions.
Then, the Business Community, Churches, Schools and the Public will be invited to come learn more about how they can make a difference by visiting this “Job Fair Format” and visiting with agencies and organizations on their needs and how those needs can be met. Maybe your business loves to get outside as a team one day a year and make a noticeable impact….perhaps Habitat for Humanity has a project? Maybe you can pick up litter monthly….then Keep Longview Beautiful’s Adopt A Street Program is for you! Maybe you are a retail expert…..perhaps Hopes Closet or Heartisans could benefit from your experience. Perhaps you love history….then the Gregg County Historical Museum is the place to go! There are so many opportunities to give back….we want the community to come learn more from those serving the community in so many varied and positive ways….and then, VOLUNTEER.
Booth reservation forms will be accepted through Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
