Join us for a spectacular night of swing dancing with Sammy Miller and The Congregation! They are dedicated to bringing generosity back to jazz and making art more accessible to people. Sammy Miller, a Juilliard-trained drummer, has been recognized as "the perfect player scholar” by The Wall Street Journal.
Over the past decade, he has worked to make jazz more accessible to a new generation of listeners and students. From Lincoln Center to The White House, TEDx to The Newport Jazz Festival, Sammy Miller and The Congregation have been headlining prominent jazz festivals for over a decade. The Congregation specializes in joyful jazz – music that uplifts and feels good.
This incredible group will be serving as adjudicators for the North Central Washington Music Educators Association fall Jazz Festival, held at ICCA where jazz bands and choirs from schools throughout the NCW come together for an awesome festival experience. And then there will be TWO incredible evening concerts open to the public – a traditional sit-down performance on November, 7th, and an interactive community swing dance on November 8th!
