Join The People's Echo for our seasonal community song circle! We will come with songs for spring and welcome you to also come carrying songs that feel alive for you in this time—perhaps songs of birth, blossoming, expression, new-ness, and change.
In a song circle, songs are taught call-and-echo style and are learned in the moment, sometimes with harmony, sometimes without. At our song circles, we welcome all sorts of singers and embrace imperfection—we step outside of societal singing norms, inviting folks to step into discomfort within a supportive singing space.
Free and open to all. Reparation donations are welcome to @jessrenecreative on Venmo. "These funds financially support local Indigenous song circles and Intertribal, two-spirit, Tlalokan and Indigenous youth groups to gather, get tools, make tools, afford food, gas stipends, and get materials to make our regalia for our song gatherings and ceremonies. Song and ceremony was taken from us, and we want our culture back!" WHAT IS THE PEOPLE'S ECHO?
The People’s Echo is a healing-centered song collective based on Coast Salish Lands. We catch and share songs as medicine for these times, and tend to community through the practice of joining our voices in song. Our mission is to heal ourselves and the world through the practice of community singing and to reclaim our voices as instruments for personal and collective liberation.
