On the evening of Thursday, October 3rd, community members, dedicated volunteers and staff members alike are invited to gather for a free screening of UnCharitable. The film challenges many of our deep-seated beliefs around “non-profit” organizations, with a central premise that the way society expects charities to operate—by keeping overhead low and avoiding risk—limits their potential to create real, lasting change. Following the screening, we’ll engage in a panel discussion about the challenges that impact the nonprofit sector as a whole, how these challenges have local impacts, and what we all can do to start shifting these dynamics together.
