About this Event
Join Hitchcock Wood’s Education and Grants Coordinator, Heather Levy, for a morning of surveying for Eastern Bluebirds! Organized by National Audubon Society, Climate Watch is a community science program that explores how bird species are responding to changes in climate. We will count bluebirds at designated survey locations in the Woods. We will be hiking on foot between points, so please wear comfortable shoes and bring water, snacks, and binoculars if you have them. No previous bird identification experience is required, and we encourage anyone interested to come watch how a bird survey is conducted! The surveys should take approximately 2 hours to complete (including walking in between the points), but you are welcome to leave at any point.
To avoid altering bird behavior, we are limiting registration for this event to the first 10 participants. There will be additional opportunities to participate in community science monitoring efforts. Please note that there will be a professional photographer from National Audubon Society joining this program and they will be taking photos of participants.
