About this Event
Learn basic quilting techniques from master quilter and South Central stalwart, Rev. Judi Wortham. Offered in partnership with ourece, this workshop highlights quilting as a healing art tradition that has long documented Black family histories and memories across generations. Following a guided tour of Ode to ’Dena: Black Artistic Legacies of Altadena, participants will each contribute a personal square to a community quilt that will be publicly displayed at Octavia’s Bookshelf in tribute to the town’s people and stories. No experience necessary; all materials provided.
