Join us as we launch our very first community Pumpkin Smash. What is a pumpkin smash, you ask? It is a community event that brings people together after Halloween to collect and compost pumpkins! It is an effort to keep pumpkins out of the landfill and put them into a soil building system instead. We are partnering with Bucket Ruckus, our local curbside composter, and Golden Sands RC&D to host this event. We want to thank the Central Wisconsin Community Foundation for the funds to help expand composting access in the community with a new drop-off location and community event.
While you swing by to Smash Your Pumpkin, join in with some fall festivities. Check out our literal and true, Cornhole toss. Challenge a family member to pumpkin tick-tac-toe! Or, how about giving a pumpkin sling shot a try? Or simply enjoy some tasty hot apple cider while visiting with other cool, composting community members.
This event will be held Saturday, November 15th from Noon to 3pm at the Giving Farm on 130 Georgia Street North in Stevens Point, WI.
