Workshop Mending & Repair: Patching & Darning with Jakia Fuller
Info: Jakia Fuller will lead workshop attendees through the mending basics of patching and darning. Attendees will learn how to make simple patches, use them to repair clothing or serve as decoration, and learn simple stitches to mend holes or add a special element to their favorite piece.

Workshop | Upcycling 101: The Garment Restoration Program with YAUDI
Info: This free demo provides participants an in-depth perspective into YAUDI's Garment Restoration Program which utilizes second-hand textiles as substrates for streetwear. The workshop will also feature an optional $40 starter kit that includes a t-shirt, 3 original screen printed patches, sewing supplies, and a hand sewing how-to demo for first time seamstresses. Participants are encouraged to bring their own garment for a $25 discount on the starter-kit. Starter kits are purchased on site. Reserve your spot by purchasing a free ticket. Registration is required.

In this conversation, Sustainable Fashion In Practice, Not Theory, Jakia speaks with designers in different areas of the fashion industry about sustainability in practice. This includes speaking to their personal definition and approach to sustainability, how it impacts their design practice and business, terms consumers should be aware of, such as greenwashing, and ways we as a community can incorporate sustainability into our everyday lives.
