Join us for a full day of celebrating the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, by us and for us. Community Pride will feature a local vendor market, chili cookout, zine distribution, workshops, all ages activities, community resources, harm reduction info/supplies, self-defense demos, open mic & drag show, closing out with a giant queer dance party!Traditional Tulsa Pride has become, like many other Pride celebrations, co-opted by corporations and saturated with police. The first Pride was a protest against continued oppression perpetuated by the police and government. The local queer community has been priced and policed out of our own celebration and we have had enough. We're tired of being promised change by those in charge and seeing nothing for it.
In an effort to be the change we wish to see and build the world we want to live in, a scrappy handful of local queers and small, grassroots orgs have come together to create COMMUNITY PRIDE. This is a project of love for us and by us. We are anti-capitalist and anti-genocide. We believe all struggles for liberation are bound together; that none of us is free until we are all free.
Let's build something radical. Let's take back Pride!
