About this Event
On April 28, 2020, as a pandemic emergency measure, Mayor London Breed created 24-7 car-free space on 1.5 miles of JFK Drive in Golden Gate Park.
Four years and two historic campaigns later, what's now called 'JFK Promenade' is permanently open to people and closed to vehicle traffic.
Come celebrate the joy, safety, and sustainability of JFK Promenade at a public picnic on the exact anniversary of this beloved space for all ages and abilities.
Bring: A picnic and blanket; there will also be food trucks. Please pack it in and pack it out to minimize waste.
Invite: Anyone and everyone who loves the JFK Promenade!
What: Meet friends or make new ones at this lovefest of JFK Promenade. There will be games and activities for all ages.
Walk San Francisco is hosting the celebration, with partners the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, KidSafe SF, Church of 8 Wheels, and San Francisco Recreation & Park Department.
Please RSVP for this free event to help us with planning. Learn more at walksf.org/JFK4years.
