About this Event
Community organising and coffee – part 1
Join us for an informal information session – coffee, cake and good chat provided!
Citizens UK is a Community Organising charity, bringing together everyday people and local organisations including faith groups, schools, universities, and service providers to build a better, fairer society.
The University of Manchester is a member organisation of Greater Manchester (GM) Citizens, working in partnership for the common good and social justice. Through the method of broad-based community organising, we work with local leaders to win change and strengthen their communities.
In this session:
· Find out more about GM Citizens and how the University supports and works in partnership with the alliance organisations to make change.
· Explore what community organising is and isn’t.
· Find out how you can get involved in future opportunities to support community organising.
Organised by the Office for Social Responsibility in partnership with Citizens UK – Greater Manchester. Not sure if this is for you? Contact Mags Bradbury or Dee-Ann Johnson to find out more.
