About this Event
On Sunday May 4, join hundreds of artists, activists, neighbors, dancers, and dreamers for LIVING SOILS RISING, a series of four creative acts for climate justice and healing at Under the K Bridge Park.
These two Natural Dye workshops are part of the preparation for LIVING SOILS RISING:
MARCH 7 & 9 WORKSHOPS:
- In an improvisational, playful dyeing process, we will dye fabrics together with eco-puppetry artist Marina 'heron' Tsaplina and the No North Brooklyn Pipeline Campaign to create 60 soils-meditation objects for LIVING SOILS RISING.
- In these two March natural dye workshops, we will work with locally foraged plants, iron and write messages to the soil, land and water on the cloth.
- If there is a poem, a quote, a prayer, about the soil, water, environmental, disability and healing justice that you would like to add to the dyed cloth, please bring it with you.
RSVP required - space is limited. Our first natural dye workshop filled in less than 72 hours!
Accessibility:
Please wear a mask. HEPA filter will be in use. Light refreshments will be served. The venue is up one flight of stairs.
LIVING SOILS RISING is visioned and organized by Marina Tsaplina/Soils and Spirit, NoNBKPipelineAlliance, Sane Energy Project, Urban Soils Institute, North Brooklyn Parks Alliance, Green Feather Foundation and YOU.
