📣 Help Shape Two Historic Museums in Jackson CountyJoin us for a Community Workshop and play a role in shaping the future of two significant museum projects in Jackson County:
🕊️ The Jackson County Museum and Dozier Memorial Park, a county-led initiative to preserve and share the stories of our people, places, and pivotal moments, including the full historical context of the Dozier School for Boys.
✊🏽 The Emancipation History Museum, a grassroots project being developed by the Emancipation Day Festival of Northwest Florida / Freedom Roots Foundation, Inc., to honor the legacy, struggle, and triumph of Black Floridians through the lens of emancipation and civil rights.
At each session, community members are encouraged to:
âś… Learn more about the museum visions and timelines
✅ Engage in meaningful dialogue about Jackson County’s history
âś… Meet the project teams and help guide what these museums become
âś… Share stories, photographs, artifacts, or exhibit ideas
Your voice matters. Whether you’re a lifelong resident, a descendant of someone connected to the Dozier story, or passionate about preserving Black history in Northwest Florida—this is your invitation to help build a stronger, more honest, and inclusive future.
