Morristown United Methodist Church is delighted to once again welcome Peace Islands Institute for a Ramadan presentation followed by an Iftar dinner, the meal taken at sunset to break the daily fast during Ramadan.Peace Island Institute’s mission is to promote inter-faith dialogue and friendship to create understanding and peace in our society. The Ramadan Programs shared by PII are impactful initiatives that celebrate the spirit of Ramadan and promote interfaith dialogue and harmony, providing a platform for people of all backgrounds to come together, learn, and share in the blessings of the sacred month. In the Muslim tradition, Ramadan is the holiest month, one of spiritual reflection, fasting and prayer. PII shares, “Ramadan is a time for spiritual reflection, but it’s also an opportunity to extend the spirit of unity and friendship to the broader community.” This year it begins on February 28.
Enjoy a delicious Iftar dinner prepared by Turkish American women, and come together with people from the Greater Morristown community for conversations that will deepen our relationships with one another and foster understanding, empathy, and stronger relationships across our diverse communities.
Join us in embracing the values of compassion, peace, and togetherness during Ramadan and beyond.
RSVP required by March 9th to ensure enough food for all (see the TICKET link in this Facebook event.)
