We'll spend time connecting, mindfully walking in nature, and sitting at the top of the mountain until the moon graces us with her presence
Hi moon gazers,
We're excited to host a mindful moonrise hike. Each month, we'll visit a location with a view of the eastern horizon to watch the moon and reflect on our intentions. We'll spend time connecting, mindfully walking in nature, and sitting at the top of the mountain until the moon graces us with her presence.
Meet at trailhead (extra parking on the street): Time: 8:15 pm (sun will have already set, wear layers, hike will keep you warm, but waiting for the moon will be cold/windy, will probably drop to about 50) Location via link : https://maps.app.goo.gl/veetufSZz6EPR49j7
Trail: Dakota Ridge Length: approx. 1.5 mile Elevation Gain: 300 feet Difficulty: Medium (must be OK walking in the dark)
What to expect on a mindful moonrise hike..
This experience combines hiking, community, and mindful reflection. On this hike, you can expect to connect with like-minded hikers. We will quietly walk to enjoy nature and sunset views together. At the top of the trail, we'll find a comfortable place to sit to share themes with this month's full moon and possibly a poem or two. We'll enjoy a quiet moment to watch the moon rise over the horizon. Soon after, we'll carefully head back to the trailhead.

Meet your Habitual Hiking guide: Garrett
Hi friends. My name is Garrett.
For years, I have found peace and healing in intentional expeditions into nature. We can so easily miss beautiful moments in the natural world around us when we are simply exercising or caught up in thoughts of our own lives, unable to listen or see the wonder around us. The moonrise above the horizon reminds me of Earth's subtle beauty and simple gifts. I am excited to share this monthly tradition with you all. I’m trained in Wilderness Medicine, Psychology, and the Natural Sciences, but really I just love nature and reading astrology for fun. Excited to gaze at the moon with you all!
