FOFA (Forth on 4th Ave) hosts elected officials, city agencies and community members to discuss improving 4th Ave
About this Event

Join us to review the results of our survey!

Forth on Fourth Avenue (FOFA), working with many community partners, hosted an online survey to generate comments, ideas and concerns about 4th Ave from the people who live, work, go to school, travel or visit businesses along 4th Ave in Brooklyn, NY.

The online survey was open for 5 weeks and received over 600 responses; many people also added in-depth written comments.

We have invited many elected officials, city agencies representatives and community leaders to review and respond to the survey results. A list of those invited is below (and in formation.) We hope to host a civil and productive conversation about what next steps can be taken to improve 4th Ave.

The Meeting Room is on the 2nd Floor of the Old Stone House and space is limited. Please RSVP and arrive early to secure a spot.

We will record the meeting as well as take minutes, which we will share within our networks and to the FOFA Google Group). Please email [email protected] to be added. Survey findings and meeting documentation will be shared widely.

Some history:

Almost 10 years ago, Forth on Fourth Avenue (FOFA) hosted an online survey and public meeting to call attention to issues on 4th Ave in Brooklyn and to begin constructive conversations and advocacy with then newly elected Council Member Brad Lander and Stephen Levin. Both the survey and the meeting were enthusiastically received – we had 390 survey responses and standing-only meeting attendance at the Old Stone House in January 2014.

That was then. But today, close to half (42%) of the 4th Ave residents responding to 2024 survey are new to 4th Ave (living here 1 -5 yrs). They may not know about the existing plans for improvements on 4th Ave, and certainly most did not attend our meeting 10 years ago. The pace of development on 4th Avenue has been astonishing; there are dozens of new buildings and hundreds of new, or about to be new, residents in the neighborhood. It was time for a new survey and we are thrilled that over 600 people responded!
