Residents are invited to a community meeting to learn more information about the City's Beech Tree Removal, Replacement, and Treatment Plan at Belair Drive. For more information about the Belair Drive project and what to consider if you have a Beech Tree on your property, please join us on Wednesday, October 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Kenhill Center (2614 Kenhill Drive). American Beech trees are currently being impacted by two diseases, Brittle Cinder Disease and Beech Leaf Disease. Brittle Cinder Disease is a root and trunk rot fungus that can lead to sudden tree failure. There is currently no treatment or cure. Beech Leaf Disease (BLD) is caused by a foliar nematode that results in dark banding on leaves, premature leaf drop, and gradual decline.
