About this Event
Community Interest Meeting
Join us in person for the Community Interest Meeting: Forming a Dayton Coalition for and with those experiencing homelessness. Dayton is one of the only cities in Ohio without a community-based coalition. During this interesting meeting, we will hear from Coalitions in Cincinnati and Cleveland about their work and learn what differences it is making in their communities. This session is for all organizations, faith-based groups, advocates, people experiencing homelessness, and any other members of our community interested in taking a human rights and dignity approach to working with and on behalf of people experiencing homelessness. The meeting will conclude with brainstorming next steps and setting goals for 2026.
Here are a couple of examples of missions of Coalitions in Ohio:
The eradication of homelessness with respect for the dignity and diversity of its membership, people experiencing homelessness, and the community. Our Coalition works towards this goal by coordinating services, educating the public, and engaging in grassroots organizing and advocacy.
We exist to eliminate the root causes of homelessness while loving our diverse community through organizing, advocacy, education, and street outreach.
