As the holiday season is upon us, we thought it would be fitting to have a workshop on the topic of food safety in our kitchens and at family or social gatherings. At this fun and interactive event, participants will get the chance to identify techniques that they practice every day when handling food, answer food handling questions and learn how food should be handled to reduce the risks of food born illnesses. Upon reviewing the safe handling practices, participants will get the chance to grade their own inspections sheets to see if they pass the food safety inspection!This an inclusive event that is open to young adults and adults, with and without disabilities, their families and caregivers as well as any interested member of the public.
Presented by Diane Oliver, MPH, RDN, LDN, EFNEP Coordinator, ServSafe Certified Instructor from the Cooperative Extension of University of Delaware.
Pizza and refreshments will be served. Registration is required.
